Another painting done with the same no. 8 flat which is now starting to resemble a filbert. Not sure about this piece. The reference photo was taken under an overcast sky which made the scene rather gray. I'm already certain I will re-paint this right on top of the existing painting real soon.
OIl on panel, 8"x10" I feel I am in a zone with the no. 8 flat brush now. This painting came off pretty quick and without fuss. The reference photo was one I took many years ago on a ranch in south Texas.
Oil on panel, 10"x8" Another quick painting done in one session. Mostly done with a no. 8 flat then finished with a round sable for some of the tree limbs and sky holes.
Oil on panel, 11"x14" Another attempt at the Grapevine Hills in Big Bend. I am much happier with the results this time. This was painted much faster than the previous Grapevine Hills painting and almost entirely with a no. 8 flat. The large brush and faster pace kept me from painting undesired details and concentrating on the value and color.
