"The Soft Hues of Summer"

This scene is on the Post Road, south of Marathon, Texas. I think there is less vibrant color in the landscape during summer than any other time of year. Spring and fall are full of vibrant color, winter has so many beautiful warm grays and rich color but summer color often appears tired and worn.

This scene is north of Marathon, Texas off highway 385. I had a very difficult time getting a usable photo of this painting and most likely will try again tomorrow. If I can get a better image I will replace the existing one.

This prairie rattlesnake "Crotauls Viridis" was crossing highway 385 north of Marathon near the Pecos County line.
