Just Chillin', 24"x30", oil on canvas
I had a nice reference for the longhorn, but had to improvise the landscape and bluebonnets.

Eagle Lake Landscape

Eagle Lake Landscape
9"x12" Oil on panel.

Another piece inspired by photos take near Eagle Lake on the 90 Alternate southwest of Houston.
If you live in the Houston area and have never made this drive, I highly recommend it.
Drive it when the wildflowers are out and you will not be disappointed.

On the 90A near Eagle Lake

"On the 90A near Eagle Lake"
9"x12", oil on panel

This was painted using brush work mixed with palette knife about 50/50. Very loose and spontaneous work with bold color. I used photos taken on the 90 Alternate between Richmond and Eagle Lake. Lots of nice ranch land on that route.

Field of Blue

"Field of Blue"
9"x12" oil on linen panel

What a fun piece to paint. I love scenes like this. A nice distant view, a field full of bluebonnets and other wildflowers with a beautiful blue Texas sky!

Hills Near Bandera

Hills Near Bandera
9"x12", Oil on panel

Pretty sure I've posted this before, maybe not but this is a revised piece I started long ago. It was a problem child of which I have several, meaning that no matter what I do to it I can't seem to get it to my satisfaction. Well, I think this one is finally on my good side and I can call it done. Better late than never right?

If you are interested in this piece, email me for specifics.

On the Western Balcones

"On the Western Balcones"
30'x24", oil on linen canvas

Pretty much a made up scene. This is the transitional zone between the hill country and the Chihuahuan Desert. Overlapping species of flora and fauna from both regions ebb and flow on the Western edge of the Balcones Escarpment.

Landscape with Daisies

"Landscape with Daisies"
20"x20", oil on gallery wrapped canvas

Painted from photos taken in the hill country this past spring.
I found this scene quite appealing with the solitary Oak and the scattered yellow Daisies.
I slightly modified the composition from my photo to make a stronger arrangement. I also added the clouds to the sky that was a cloudless blue gradation in my reference photo.
