Cactus, Oaks and Bonnets

Oil on Belgian Linen panel, 14"x11"

This painting is now complete. Hopefully I can keep my hands off of it and leave it as it is. I have made several adjustments in balance of elements, color and detail, some painted in and some actually removed to get to this final version. Compare the previous post of this to see what I have done.

Near Dusk (in progress)

Oil on panel, 8"x10"

This is a revised version of the painting posted on December 13, 2013.

Road through the Blue (in progress_#2)

Oil on Belgian Linen panel, 12"x16"
I am getting close to complete on this painting. I'm still not happy with a few things and I need to add more interest to the large mass of tees/foliage to the right. I'm thinking some larger tree trunks maybe and a few larger sky holes to break up the mass. I have repainted the larger tree on the left but still not happy with the shape and think I need more variation of color and a few more sky holes. I am pretty happy with the foreground now and will try to leave it alone.

Morning Light (in progress)

Oil on panel, 8"x10"

This piece is about an hour in and still very rough. Pretty much just the under painting. I see some nice things happening already and I'm liking it. I will try to leave this one pretty loose and not get carried away with detail. Lets see how that goes!

Blue in the Hills (in progress)

Oil on panel 10"x8"
This is about 1.5 hours into this painting. We will see how it progresses and hopefully I make something nice of it.

Cactus, Oaks and Bonnets (In progress)

Oil on Belgian Linen pane, 14"x11"
This painting is about 90% complete but you never know what I might do to it or possibly even ruin it.

Road through the Blue (in progress)

Oil on Belgian Linen panel, 12"x16"

I usually get about 2.5 hours a day to paint before I have to get ready for work. This doesn't leave me with time to get that much progress made on a painting and because I am usually working on a few at a time I have decided to try to post each session what I have completed for that day. This is actually 3 sessions on this panting which I started over the weekend. I will continue to show my progress up to completion.

Near Rock Springs

Oil on gallery wrapped linen canvas, 22x28x2

I recently revised this painting and have finally decided to repost it as it is far different now than thye original post of it about a year ago.
Again a poor photo, this one taken with my iphone. I can't seem to get a photo without glare on it which is on the top edge of the photo just above a cloud. I need to invest in photo lights and umbrellas to bounce light and get better image quality using my new Fujifilm digital camera.
