Roadside Blue

Oil on panel, 11"x14"

I found this scene in the late afternoon just off the side of the road in Chappell Hill, Texas. The bluebonnets and paintbrush were at their peak and the late afternoon sun was dancing across the slope of the landscape. I was specifically drawn to this scene by the variety of blues within sunlight and shadow.

Spring Near Bandera - revised and completed

Oil on canvas, 24"x30"

I had previously posted this painting before it was complete, I let it sit for quite some time
before returning to it. It has changed so much that I decided to create a new post rather than edit the previous.. I still can not get good photos of large paintings. My camera just isn't adequate for the task.

Under the Shade Trees

Acrylic on panel, 11"x14"
Another view of the same Brahman cow I painted last week. This view is a little closer, from a different angle and features the cow rather than the trees.

Pink and Blue

A revised version of this painting is posted above.
Acrylic on panel, 6"x8"
I wanted to paint something with a little more color so I chose this scene which I found near La Grange but I pushed the color a bit more than the actual photo.
