Hill Country Afternoon

Oil on panel, 16"x20"

This scene kind of created itself. I began with the large tree then painted around it until complete. I may make some adjustments after letting it rest a few days.

Summer Chisos

Oil on panel, 11"x14"

This view of the Chisos Mountains is few miles from the road to the Basin.
As is often the case, like many others, I have revised this painting and uploaded the new image.

La Grange Oak

Oil on panel, 8"x10"

This oak was growing near La Grange, Texas. I added the hill in the background for more depth.

A Touch of Green on the Arroyo

Oil on canvas, 24"x36

I have revised this painting. I wanted to knock some of the greens back a little and change the design of the foreground a bit.

Another scene from Big Bend National Park.

Oak on the Fence line

Oil on panel, 6"x8"

This scene is in the Texas Hill Country north of Bracketville.

A Touch of Green on the Arroyo

Oil on canvas, 24"x36"

This is a scene along an arroyo in Big Bend National Park. It was painted from photos taken in July of 2011. Most of the state experienced one of the worst droughts in recent history, and I found it very interesting how the flora nearest the arroyo was green while the majority of the desert plants were barely clinging to life.

The photo of this painting is not very good. I had a very difficult time getting a usable image of this painting because of its' size

Clear Skies in the Bend

Oil on panel, 8"x10"

This painting continues a tradition I have maintained for a few years now by starting and completing a painting of Big Bend on New Years Day. I painted this pretty quick and it is quite loose so I may make minor adjustments after this layer has dried.

Happy New Year to ALL and thanks for following my work.
