I have painted this scene before but wanted to paint it again... I am thinking about I might paint this as a much larger piece and wanted to do another study of it. This scene is in Big Bend National Park.

'Til the Cows Come Home

This is a repaint of a previous work. I was not happy with the original painting and felt I could easily improve upon it. These cows are from a south Texas ranch mid 1980's.

Crescent Cross

This is the same cow I just did the smaller study of (Living Large). I slimmed it down quite a bit. It was  very large and just didn't look right.

Again my camera has problems with yellows! I actually trimmed this cow down a bit from my photo reference. It may have been about to give birth, or so it appeared.

A small scene of some yellow flowers growing just west of Houston, Texas. My camera has a tough time with yellows, this painting is much more colorful than this dreary image.

On Terlingua Creek

I have revised this painting with the new image above. I added buildings in the background and repainted most of the canvas.

I am not finished with this painting but wanted to view it online for a bit and let decide if I want to put some old buildings in the background. There are also a few other adjustments I would like to make. The scene is on Terlingua Creek just west of Big Bend National Park.

Day Breaks

This scene is very similar to Mornings Veil and another entirely made up painting. This time I came in a little tighter making the scene more intimate and left the bluebonnets out keeping the morning light as the feature of the painting.

Longhorn Study

This Longhorn was painted from a photo sent to me by my friend and collector Larry Miller of Houston. Thanks Larry! I will be doing several paintings of these beautiful animals. Hopefully culminating in a larger piece with multiple longhorns in the scene.
