Arroyo Vista

Oil on panel, 6"x8"

I have painted this scene before but never with so much thought before laying paint down. I modified the scene just a little for the sake of the design and used fewer values to tie elements together. I carefully manipulated edges to lead the eye throughout the scene. This painting was done at the request of a friend and collector. Painted from photos taken in Big Bend National Park.

You can see a lot of thought process went into this wonderful picture. The composition is very interesting, and you weaved it all together beautifully!

The varying shapes, descending view, lush green brushstrokes, balance and feeling of space are all terrific!

Congratulations, David, on painting this fine work.
