Morning in the Chisos

Oil on panel, 16"x20"

I repainted sections of this piece several times, most of the time eliminating extraneous details. This is a morning scene from the Chisos Mountains in Big Bend National Park as the sun has crested the mountains and begins to shine through the trees.

I do like the foggy look and the openness of your landscapes. Dreamy.

A terrific painting, David. I love your handling of light and shadow, and feeling of distance. "Morning in the Chisos" is a poetic master work.
