"Night Crawler - Crotalus Viridis"

This prairie rattlesnake "Crotauls Viridis" was crossing highway 385 north of Marathon near the Pecos County line.

Yes I took a photo to work from. It was the middle of the night and no moon when I saw him on the road, so it was pitch dark out. I used a flash to get a good picture but it washed out his form. I painted him that way because he looked haunting almost like he was crawling through the darkness.
